Dear friend,
It is with much care and concern for you and your loved ones that I have written this rather long letter. I have done so
because of the perilous (life and death) times in which we now live. I beg you to bear with me and carefully consider
what I have to say.
I am a believer in, and follower of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is what it means to be a Christian. It is
with both sadness and embarrassment, that as a bible teacher and leader in the church, I must begin by
acknowledging the false, empty, and contradictory picture of Christianity that has been presented by some who profess
faith in, and claim to represent Jesus Christ. You must understand and accept that just as there was in the past, there
is today a false and a true church on the earth. In the 13th chapter of the gospel of Matthew, verses 36-43, Jesus
refers to them as wheat and tares. The tares may appear to be very religious, but Jesus did not die for man to become
religious. In fact, misguided religious men gave Him over to be crucified by the Romans. Jesus died to free mankind
from sin, and the tyranny of religious self-righteousness. But despite what has been done by some to pervert the truth,
let me assure you that the bible, which is God's written revelation of Him self to mankind is true.
I became a believer and follower of Jesus Christ 31 years ago, as I was searching for answers to the empty-ness in my
life, as well as the chaos in the world around me. Since I am not the kind of person who just takes what people say, I
did a comparative study of the teachings of Islam, Buddhism, and others as well. Needless to say, after a careful study,
I came away convinced that the bible contains the truth. Unlike the scriptures of the other world religions, instead of a
collection of unrelated thoughts, religious rituals, and theories, the bible contains the records of actual historical
persons and events, lived by real people just like you and I. Even the root cause and solution to the seemingly
unsolvable problem between Jews and Arabs can be found in it. In the bible I found the answers to the biggie questions
of life, such as where did we come from? What really happens after we die? I also found the answers to my why
question, which was: Why is this world so screwed up?
Friend, I am more convinced today in the truth and accuracy of the bible than I was 31 years ago. Today, the
predicted events of the bible are unfolding right before our very eyes on the real time stage of human history, as we
are witnessing the disintegration of world order and stability. That is what makes the bible so unique. It contains a
record of the past, and predicts how the future events of human history will unfold. As you read this letter, just as it is
written in the bible, the world is spinning totally out of control. On a daily basis our senses are bombarded with fear and
uncertainty, brought on by the chaos that has gripped our world. (2 Timothy 3:1-5) We are no longer a big
unconnected world we have truly become a global community of nations that face common problems.
On September 11, 2001, the once seemingly invincible United States of America joined the rest of the world in having
to confront the fear and panic caused by terrorism on its shores. As a result, America as well as the rest of the world is
forever changed. The danger that mankind faces collectively, and you and your loved ones face personally is beyond
your human comprehension. If you will allow me I would like to share with you the answer to my why question that I
found in the bible. I apologize for the length of this letter, but if you will please bear with me.
